Unity Produce Exchange

Who? -   Everyone is welcome to participate by giving and/or receiving - We do ask that you take only
what you can use, so that everyone may be blessed.
What? -  Any produce (fruit, nut, herb, vegetable etc...) If you have an abundance - share.
When? -  Each Sunday
Where? - The Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center Activities Center
Why? -    To know and affirm that there is no lack only a lack of circulation. God's abundance is all
around us, and when we put open ourselves to opportunities and participate in creating the
world we desire to live in, by coming together and sharing with each other

Circulate God's blessings, and we no longer see lack, we know abundance!

Spring is here and so we renew our wonderfully successful PRODUCE EXCHANGE program. For the last two years we have grown and shared the harvest! This year will be even more abundant!

Consider putting out a pot or digging out a space to plant a plant. Discover that you too can participate in creation of your good. As the produce begins to roll in, put your bag in the car and stop in the Activities Center after service to be blessed with healthy, wholesome produce.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

THE INTRODUCTION

As I listen to the news of all that the experts predict for the future, I could become very depressed and afraid. However, instead I choose to look to my true source of good – God. I believe that each  challenge I face also contains opportunities if I am willing to seek them and then put forth a little effort. I believe I have found a few of these opportunities and as Truth Students together we can make a difference and support each other.

First, I believe that there is no lack, only a lack of circulation. The Divine Source does not pick and choose who to curse or bless. The Divine Source can only bless. I believe that we are made in the image and likeness of that Source. Therefore, I too contain the creative power that leads to abundance.

The problem is that we have become so dependent upon money to buy all of our needs that when there are economic challenges, we begin to experience fear and lack.

The opportunities?  I see many, but will this month share only a couple. First, this is a time to review what is truly important to us – is it the new car or reliable transportation – is it a designer pair of shoes or durable protection for our feet. Well, you get the idea. What is truly important in life?

One of the basic needs of every human being is food. When it appears that food will not be easily assessable or abundant we experience fear. Fear such as starvation or not providing for the needs of our loved ones. Today we have an opportunity and today is the perfect time to address the basic need for food. Right now the farmers are putting in crops; seeds are being put into pots so seedlings can grow into plants that in May are planted outside.

Our tomorrows are created today. So, let us join together and use our God given creative power to create an abundant tomorrow.  I am proposing that the fellowship we call Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center take action right now. We can help ourselves while we help our fellowship.

I am proposing that each one of us plant a few seeds into a container right now. Nurture the seedling into a plant. (if you don’t know how to care for them, let me know and I will try to help)

If you are like me you will have more plants than you can use, so any extra plants bring to Unity on Sunday April 27 for a plant exchange. Leave the plants you can’t use and pick up some you can! At home plant them either in the ground or in a planter, throw some water on them throughout the summer and harvest the abundance!

BUT DON’T STOP THERE – The extra produce you can’t use, bring with you to Unity each Sunday. Share your EXTRA produce and take home produce you can use. If you have apple trees – pick some apples, if you have herbs – bring in some cuttings, and if you grow flowers – share them. After everyone has taken what they can use– the extra will be delivered to the Homeless Shelter. In this way we are all blessed!

I envision each Sunday, this summer, the Unity Activity Center overflowing with God’s abundant blessings and everyone sharing in the harvest! Friends, there is no lack only a lack of circulation. Let us take action right now and our tomorrows will be filled with abundance.

When we give to one another we express the Divine Spirit of Love. If is human to receive, then it is truly Divine to give. Let us join together and share the load knowing that each time we pick a carrot to share, we are doing the will and work of our Creator. Imagine a world where each person is concerned for the well being of their neighbor, imagine a community that comes together to support each other and provide for the needs of all.

I believe that Unity is such a place. I believe that we are such people. Let Unity be an oasis of God’s love, not only feeding the spirit, but also feeding the body. This is the fulfillment of the final commandment that our Master Teacher Jesus left to us: “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” (John 13:34 NRSV)

So what do you think? Are you willing? A little action for a big return?

I am ready, I am taking action. My garden will contain – tomatoes, green peppers, peas, green beans, carrots, lettuce, zucchini, yellow squash, egg plant, and anything else I can squeeze in. I am also putting in an herb garden! I am willing to accept the opportunity that is here right now!

Let our Unity in Spirit lead the way!  Thank You, God!!!!
